A man was walking on the road when he came across three stonemasons, each doing the tedious, back-breaking job of carving chuncks of granite from rocks.
The man asked the first mason what he was doing. The manson responded, “I’m hammering this stupid rock, because I need the money.”
The second mason, when asked the same question, answered, “I’m molding this block of rock because I’m the best stone-cutter around.”
The third mason was hammering at his block fervently and with zeal. When he was questioned about his work he stopped, gazed skyward and said, “I am building a cathedral!”
